Nitrox Diver

Course Description
The NSS-CDS Nitrox Diver course is intended to train divers to utilize Enriched Air
Nitrox mixtures up to 40% as a breathing medium with the aid of a programmable Nitrox
computer. The course may be taught as a stand-alone specialty course to certified
divers or the knowledge and skills training may be integrated into other NSS-CDS
certification courses.
What you can expect to learn
Graduates will be qualified to conduct Enriched Air Nitrox dives with a single gas of no
greater than 40% oxygen and not requiring mandatory in-water decompression stops or
dives using more than one breathing gas and/or rebreathers provided:
- The diving activities approximate those of training
- The areas of activities approximate those of training
- Environmental conditions approximate those of training
Course Equipment Requirements
The following equipment is required for student use:
- Nitrox Cylinder with gas suitable for calibration
- Oxygen Analyzer which may be supplied by the instructor
- Stickers for marking cylinders
- Sample Nitrox log
- Nitrox Diving Computer
Course Prerequisites
- Minimum age 18.
- Minimum certification of Open Water Diver or equivalent.
- If combined with other NSS-CDS courses, the Student Prerequisites for those courses apply.
