Treasurer report- Cheryl Dornan

– Bank of America 6884.24
– Morgan Stanley 49330.13 losing money because of fees. We need to change
agent on
Morgan Stanley Account.
– We owe the lawyer $12.066.00 we inherited 10k we added 2-3k. We have paid 1k
this year.

– Cow Springs Clean up, 15 attended 10 attended social Nov 2nd
– Waynes World clean up 25 attended, Feb 2nd

– Nekko donated $1500 year to date.
– Aluchua Sink, NSS-CDS is listed as additional insured on the NSS policy
– DPVs now allowed at Manattee springs, Credit to Brent Hemphill
– Tony is working with Steve Mann on a presentation about conservation and water
quality.
UWS report – Cheryl Dornan
– Cost of international postage has gone up significantly 16460.00 – 3000 for
postage-1500.00 just for international postage
– Recommends a digital issue for the june 1st , savings of 4000.00(800postage
+3200printing)
– I was recommended that there be digital issue option for the UWS, A digital issue
is put on the website.
– John jones recommends raising the international postage rates we charge
international postage. Tabled to new business.
Committee Chair -Dave Jones
– Heard nothing from Bozianic and Gene Melton. We were told they would be
sending the manuscripts and failed to do so.
– Joe citelli recommended shelving the the book project, as Bonzianic and Melton
refuse to turn over chapters as agreed.
Property Chair- Nathan Spray
– Paul Heinerth needs more concrete for the new satirs at School Sink.
– Still need list of guides and mentored divers from Paul Heinerth.
– Paul is the head of the guide committee, and we need the list.
– Cathedral in need of a minor clean-up, pressure wash the steps, tree trimming,
clean up.
– Possible changing the verbiage to Independent diver vs. Mentored vs. Unguided
table to new business
– Divers must have Abe Davis or equivalent.
Training Chair- Jim Wyatt
– Certifications have come in as normal
Secretary – TJ Muller
– Wrongful death suit, Frank Ohiddy found a waiver from April 2008, signed by Yessic
Spencer.
The widow’s lawyer disputes signature on waiver. Rick Murcar from the NACD
dug through their records and found a waiver from 2004.
The signatures match, and has been forwarded to the attorneys.
– Eagles Nest management plan meeting with the FWC Mike Poucher, Mike
Barnette, TJ Muller, Ken Hill,
Recommendations were made on the sign and adding a reaper sign at the top of
the solution tube, and See Something, Say Something.
Agencies should reach out to dive shops to educate them that the ballroom is
not an open water dive or even a cavern dive.
NSS-CDS needs to have a web page on their site for the Eagles Nest diving
guidelines. ICURR, and NACD would also have a web page.
– Mobile app still under development
– Scholarship program still under development. Application still needs to be
approved by attorneys. Will be open to non-members.
It would self advertise, and we could trough in a years membership to NSSCDS,
we would have to pay the NSS for their share.
– We have an attorney who is willing to help us with the conservation easements,
property info will be sent to him to get a opinion on how
best to proceed with the putting conservation easements on the property.
Mike Poucher- Is donating all Shek Exsley’s maps and survey info to the NSS for
preservation into posterity and possible digital imaging.
Cheryl Dornan- CDS store
– The new CDS store is up and running with new items.
– Still revamping the store inventory
Joe Citelli “I would like to thank Cheryl for all the work she has done for us, balancing
the books, accounting, merchandising the store.

– Motion to modify the scholarship program to include non members and provide
one full year membership in the CDS

New Business
– Motion to raise postage on international subscribers to a $30 surcharge. In
addition offer the option for digital copy at no surcharge.

– Motion to publish the July UWS digitally.
Motion withdrawn
– Motion to change the terminology in the School Sink management plan from
“Mentored Diver” to “Unguided Diver”
Motion withdrawn
– Motion to stop all diving at school sink until a new management plan can be
implemented. With the caveat that it revert to the original plan if not done by the
next board meeting 4/24/2014

– Motion to establish a legal defense fund to include a button on the website. In
addition to be handled by Tony Flaris.
No vote taken
– Motion to establish a fund for changing rooms at Cow Springs with Steve Boyer.
Motion Passed
– Motion for the CDS purchase and set up a scanning of credit cards remotely.
Cost $55(scanner) and $99 set up and $15 month only use only month of
service.
Motion Withdrawn to research other Scanning device like square or paypal.
Action item for Joe to call.
– Motion to explore conservation easements with on three properties using legal
advice of Andy Zodrow and Kate Pritchett.

– Motion to add an page to the NSS-CDS website for the diving at Eagles Nest
Guidelines and certification needed ect.
