An elected member of The Explorers Club, Joe Citelli has over 30 years diving experience and is a veteran of numerous remote location, deepwater shipwreck and cave expeditions. He has dived caves all over Florida and Mexico. His wreck diving experience include the famed Andrea Doria, The USS Virginia and The City of Everett. He also participated in expeditions leading to the identification and documentation of multiple shipwrecks, such as the Esmeralda, Holsten, Joseph M. Cudahy, Kringeline, Munger T. Ball, Pan Massachusetts, and The Queen of Nassau. In 1991 he was part of the first (helium) mixed gas program offered by IANTD which established the standards and procedures in use today. When not working at his auto parts business, Joe can usually be found in a cave or on a shipwreck somewhere.
Joe’s commitment to teaching is born out of his enthusiasm for the sport. By the way, he is also a great storyteller!
